Helium Now Offering Up Front Payments

Following the lead of Associated Content, Helium is now offering up front payments for it’s writers. Payments depend on how many writing stars the writer has, writers get .50 to $2.50 for each article posted (plus residuals). In addition, if you write an aricle for their marketplace that does not sell, you will get a transition payment (based on stars) once the article transitions to Helium.
There is also a new $3.00 rating bonus per month for all writers with five rating stars.
Careful, though, not all channels are eligible for upfront payments. Creative writing, politics, religion, society, entertainment and debate titles do not warrent an upfront payment at this time. You must have at least one rating star and one writing star to qualify for the new upfront payments.
On a personal note, I have found that residuals from Helium are no where near what they are for eHow and Suite 101. However, writing for thier marketplace definitely has a spot on my agenda and is well worth it.
