The Ugly Blog Experiment

I have been using Google Adsense on this blog since it’s inception.  Lately I have been doing a lot of reading to try to figure out how to make more money through this avenue.  Unfortunately for all of you, I read today that readers click more ads on blogs that are ugly.

Hey, it’s worth a shot.

I have a couple of blogs on Today.com,  here and here.  I am not able to post ads on my today blogs because I am paid per post to do them.  However, Today does have ads of its own on my pages.  I have noticed that their ads are not pretty.  Also, I have noticed that the ads are above the text for the post.  I’m sure that they have done the market research, so I figure that I’ll try that method here and see if I can tell a difference.

Who knows?  It can’t hurt!

I am also working on improving my social networking for this site.  If any of you out there are using Twitter, Digg or Stumbleupon, leave me a comment and I’ll be glad to add you as a friend!
